Villa Vaho is on the northern edge of the small town of Novi Vinodolski. The house was built in the early 70’s in a modern Mediterranean style, it is constructed on two levels, built into the slope that heads down to the sea.

The upper level of the house has 3 double bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, separate WC and a storage room. Centrally there is a large dining room with a large balcony that overlooks the Adriatic sea and the island of Krk.

Kitchen leads on to outdoor dining area and a barbecue surrounded by a selection of mature trees including figs and almond.

The lower level is a smaller self-contained apartment, with a double bedroom and a large open plan living area for cooking and dining. This area can also be used for additional sleeping.

In front of the apartment, beneath vine clad pergola there is an outdoor dining area and lounging areas under palm trees, fig and bay. Again, there is a fantastic view of the Adriatic.

Villa Vaho is surrounded with a large walled garden that is safe and secure for young children. The garden is equipped with hammocks, loungers and parasols.

The villa is ideal for families with children or indeed two families.

Above the upper level there is a huge terrace with a pergola and dining area, ideal for sunbathing, relaxing and enjoying the views.

There is parking in front of the house for 3 cars.

The beach is a 5 min walk down the hill.

The little town of Novi Vinodolski can be reached in 20 minutes walking along the shore. There is a small well-stocked local shop 10 minutes away but the town has a selection of supermarkets.

Crystal clear sea offers swimming, snorkeling, diving, sailing, jet skiing, while surrounding mountains provide cooler hiking/cycling terrains and National parks. Local cuisine is rich and varied and numerous restaurants are available for tasting.

Novi Vinodolski has a long history, its culture and customs that can be seen in the town museum or during various festivals in the summer months. 20Km away there is island of Krk, prolific in its heritage, vine production, tourism and natural beauty.

LOCAL BEACH
The nearest beach is 50 meters down the hill or 5 minutes away. There are various beaches along the 6 km coastline. Mostly they are rocky, pebbled or man made beaches. One beach in town is a sandy beach.
CENTRALLY LOCATED
The house is situated 2 km before the west entrance to the town or 20 minutes walk along the seashore. It is easily accessible from the main road E65 approximately 500m away from the road turn off.
ACCOMODATION
The house sleeps 8-10 people. Upper part accommodates 6 people and lower part accommodates 2 adults and 2 children. In the upper part there is a dishwasher and microwave, there is use of a washing machine, free WI-FI and there are several AC units in the house.

The area offers crystal clear sea, mountain and forest walks, boat tours to near by islands, organised visits to cultural sites, copious restaurants to taste local delicacies and numerous bars to relax with your favorite drink or cocktail.
NEAREST AIRPORT
The nearest airport is Rijeka Airport on the island of Krk which is 30km form the house. Pula airport is 150km Zagreb airport is 200km away from the house.
Location
The town of Novi Vinodolski is situated 50km south from city of Rijeka in the north part of the Croatian Adriatic sea. The town developed on the hill, above a small harbour at the sea entrance of the long valley (Vialis vinearia) that once fed the local populous and its was know for its vine. Hence the name Vino-dol, a vine valley. Today the vine production still exist and there are shops and restaurants that sell and serve local wine.

Historically this town has an important place in the Croatian history. In the 13th century a Vinodolski Zakon ( Vinodol Statut) was created by the house of Frankopan, a nobal Croatian ruling family at the time. That was the first legal Croatian document proving regional Independence and its importance which was written in old glagolitic script. Frankopans built the citadel with the stronghold and today their grandiose buildings, churches and castles can be visited in the whole area.

Habsburgs took over the region in the 16th century and in the 19th century they have started to develop tourism in the area. Again Novi’s unique position with it’s crystal clear sea waters and closeness to the mountains attracted the nobles to start building their holiday homes.

The tradition continued in the 60’s and 70’s when Yugoslavia encouraged tourist developments and it was possible for the professionals to acquire the land and build their holidays homes.

Today the town and the area is orientated to family tourism offering numerous private and hotel accommodation. With a development of three boat marinas nautical visitors will be welcomed.

The town has 4 supermarkets, a large drug store, 2 petrol stations, a pharmacy, 2 banks, several ATMs, bus station, several exchange offices, small food market and various smaller shops, many selling beach equipment.

Restaurants are numerous, offering predominately traditional continental and Mediterranean food such as variations of grilled meat or fish, Italian cuisine can be easily found and there are a few hunters lodges that offer wild meat and game.

The tourist board of Novi Vinodolski ensures every year a rich cultural program that consist of classical concerts, festivals, town tours and exhibitions.

Apart from usual sea activities, boat tours are popular way to explore the coast line and the nearby islands.

More active visitors can explore several National parks and lakes, mountain of Ucka and peninsula of Istria and even Venice that is only 3 hours drive away.

HOW LONG CAN WE STAY?
In season you can stay as long as you like but there is no price reduction while in the spring and autumn months prices are negotiable for a longer stay than 2 weeks.
IS THERE CAR PARKING?
There is free car parking for 3 cars on the street at the front of the house.
HOW MUCH TO RENT THE WHOLE HOUSE?
Prices are varied according to the season. They start at 110 euros to 220 euros for the whole house. Please contact us with dates requested to get the exact price.
CAN WE BRING OUR PETS?
Dogs are allowed but there is an additional charge of 5 euros for each dog.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM STAY?
5 days is the minimum rental.
HOW MANY DOES THE HOUSE SLEEP?
The house can accommodate up to 10 people. 8 people sleeping in separate rooms while 2, usually children sleep in the open living room on the sofa beds.
